About Our Nursery

Cockshutt C of E School Nursery is a teacher led, mixed age class. We pride ourselves on our caring and cooperative environment as we learn from and support one another to reach our full potential and (most importantly!) have fun together.

Our experienced, warm and welcoming team provide opportunities for children to learn, explore and play through a mix of child initiated and adult led activities which follow children’s interests.

At our school, we understand that children’s early years are the most influential in their education as they set the foundations for all future learning. We provide an exciting, stimulating curriculum based on the principles of the EYFS framework. Our extensive outdoor learning area allows for active, inclusive learning all year round. We also have at least one forest school session per week. These are a fabulous opportunity for children to explore, take risks and flourish in our woodland environment.

Please take a look at our Little Chestnut gallery to see just a snippet of the fun we get up to everyday!

Fees

All children aged 3 / 4 years are able to take up to 15 free hours of nursery provision from the term after their 3rd birthday. Additional sessions can be booked. If you are working parents / carers, you may also be entitled to 30 free hours.

2 year olds are welcome to attend any of our sessions. You may be eligible to apply for 24U funding if you are receiving certain benefits. Sessions cost slightly more for 2 year olds; this is due to the much higher adult : child ratio required.
