Reception children have been enjoying being toy makers to stock our class toy shop up before Christmas. They have made toys from the past and present (including Mr Potato Heads and Cup and Balls) to buy and sell. We have all enjoyed role playing customers and shop keepers to practice using the money skills we are learning in maths.
Our budding builders and architects have been busy constructing models of their favourite London landmarks.
Learning how to blend chalk pastels to recreate the front cover of Room on the Broom.
This morning, we found a witch's crash site on our school field!! We all worked together to find all the clues and decided to help the poor, lost witch. We made her some lovely new hats and broomsticks to replace the burned and broken ones we found at the crash site. We also wrote some super spells and mixed some perfect potions to reverse her invisibility and help her find her way back home.
Team work makes the dream work in Birch Class as we work together to model characters from our book, Ronald the Rhino.
Hansel and Gretel. We have some amazing budding actors in Birch Class!
We loved interviewing woodland animals! We took turns to role play being different animals utilising knowledge we learned from non-fiction books, information texts and websites.
Working together to create a new fairy garden for Gary (our resident fairy)!
A fairy has moved into our school over the summer holidays!
