Stepping Out is designed to help children develop basic pedestrian skills, this is organised and delivered by a road safety officer and involves classroom based activities and two practical sessions at the roadside. Ash class completed their Stepping Out training this week and all of the children were engaged, attentive and showed that they had an excellent understanding of safety. Our road safety officer Ray Hughes gave the children some lovely feedback.
Just to let you know I had an enjoyable couple of Stepping Out visits to Cockshutt. Very nice children and great support from Kim and her support staff. Thanks also to a governor and a local parent also for helping yesterday – and it wasn’t wet!
Perhaps a little shame it wasn’t a bit busier but it was great how the children still concentrated and used good observational and listening skills throughout.
The year 2s were also great – Charles for example being very grown up about his walk.
Thanks again for all your support.
