World Mental Health Day 2019
Thursday 10th October
Stop and Talk Event
Talking and listening is so important to our mental wellbeing. A positive, genuine conversation affects how we perceive ourselves, and boosts our confidence and motivation.
To continue supporting our children’s mental health in school, an extra bell will ring at some point during the day. All children and staff will stop what they’re doing, find somewhere to sit or stand, and talk to a friend, or a staff member, for 15 minutes.
A mentally healthy school is one that adopts a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing. It is a school that helps children flourish, learn and succeed by providing opportunities for them, and the adults around them, to develop the strengths and coping skills that underpin resilience’. There is an array of useful information, videos and resources on the mentallyhealthyschools.org.uk website. If you need to talk with a staff member, or have concerns about your child’s emotional wellbeing, please contact Mrs Hedley via the school office on 01939 270616.
