Cockshutt CE Primary School & Nursery

Our work

Class 4 have weekly a ukulele lessons with a music teacher. They are currently working hard to learn the cords and use them to play some songs. They sound fantastic.

Ukulele lessons

A group of Year 5 and 6 had the exciting opportunity to take part in a vocal workshop lead by an experienced and brilliant conductor. The group spent the day learning six new songs which they then performed alongside several other schools to create a choir. The experience was amazing for everyone involved and the singing was fantastic.

Learning through explaining methods and ideas to others is a very powerful way for children to develop their understanding and learning. Here are some children working together to discuss the methods and strategies they used to complete written methods to calculate.

Working together

The Year 6 children spent a fantastic day at Shrewsbury Abbey Open Door. They participated in different practical activities and spoke to a monk about his life experiences.

We had a fantastic hands on experience with an Anglo Saxon Workshop. We handled real artefacts, dressed as Saxons, played Saxon games and learnt about crafts.
