I have been very impressed and proud at how well Ash class have engaged with their virtual home learning. Each day I am amazed at how much work the children are completing and posting on Seesaw. Here are a few examples of how the children are ensuring that they keep fit and active and continue their learning at home. Keep up the fantastic work Ash class.

World Book Day 2020
This year we celebrated World Book Day by designing and creating a t shirt to represent our favourite books. I was impressed with the care, perseverance and enthusiasm of all of the children, their t shirts were fantastic.
Ukulele
It is amazing to see how much progress the children have made in their music lessons. They are beginning to play chords whilst singing and playing in a round. To see the class in action have a look in the video resources library.
We had a fantastic day on our Roman Adventure in Chester. We learnt about life as a Roman solider and practiced battle formations in the Amphitheater. After our patrol we learnt about daily life as a Roman in the Dewa museum.
A year of reading for pleasure.
What could be better than snuggling up with a good book? To launch our year of reading for pleasure we all came to school in our Pjs and throughout the day we listened to stories read by different members of staff.
Ready for Battle!
Internet Safety Week
Mrs Twigg, our CEOP ambassador came to speak to us about how to stay safe when we are using the Internet.
Roman Shields
We have been researching Roman shields and the meaning of the designs. We thought about what symbols we would have on a class shield. We created our initial design using Publisher. Next week we will finalise our design and make our shields.
Ukulele Lessons
Ash class enjoyed their first ukulele and singing lesson. They learnt about the different parts of the instrument and learnt a song to help them strum.
Exploring Pitch
We investigated pitch by using straws to make a set of pan pipes. The challenge was for each pipe to make a different pitch.
Using Technology.
We have been using technology to support and enhance our learning opportunities. We added labels to a picture of the inside of a Mosque and recorded information about the different features. In Math's we took photographs of 3D shapes to describe their properties and made the 3D shapes talk!
What is chronology?
To learn about chronology and significant events we made a toilet roll timeline of Mrs Bakers life. Some of the events were not significant and we had to decide which ones to remove from the timeline.
