Oak Class were privileged to welcome Darren Edwards to class to share his story 'strength through adversity'. A climbing accident at aged 26, changed Darren's life forever yet he still remained positive and ensured that it did not change him a person. Before the incident, Darren enjoyed climbing mountains around the world, and he retained this sense of adventure after the accident. He has kayaked from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for charity, and this year he is planning to complete 7 marathons, in seven days, across 7 continents!
He shared his inspiring story whilst discussing the importance of failure and mental resilience. We look forward to following his journey and his next adventures!
The class practised sewing as part of our DT project this term. They used three different stitches: running stitch, back stitch and overlapping. A big thank you to Margaret who came into class to lend us her expertise in the subject!
