Cockshutt CE Primary School & Nursery

Attending Our School

Cockshutt Primary School and Nursery is a small, rural, church school in Shropshire. We pride ourselves on the high quality of teaching and learning and the quality  of support provided to our pupils. Behaviour is outstanding and the product of a consistent whole school approach, supported by our parents and carers.  Each child knows that they are valued and we work closely with parents/carers to make sure that all children are supported to reach their full potential.  We are fully committed to an inclusive school community and have worked hard to ensure this ethos is apparent in all aspects of school life.

Attendance:

School doors open daily at 8.40am in order to allow children time to settle into class and start the day positively. Breakfast club is open from 7.30am to support families.   We recognise that regular attendance in school is such a key factor in pupil progress.   Pupils who arrive to school late miss a whole range of learning opportunities over time. If you are struggling to arrive on time please do get in touch as we have many ways in which we can support you.  Registers close at 9am. School finishes for all pupils at 3.15pm.  Extended school is available until 5.30pm should families require it.

Good time keeping is such an important life skill.   We encourage all of our pupils to attend school prepared for the day ahead.  Children are encouraged to be independent as early as possible in their school life by completing small homework tasks, bringing the correct kit to school (PE/Forest School) and we praise pupils for their independent approach to school and learning.

We have a full curriculum in school every day, so every day is a new opportunity for learning. Don't miss out!
