As part of our History topic, The Great Fire of London the children made their own houses to recreate Pudding Lane. Fantastic effort from everyone!

Then we travelled back in time to 2nd September 1666 and watched as our houses burnt down. 

World Book Day 2024. We had a wonderful day celebrating WBD. The children all looked amazing in their costumes. We did a book quiz, book scavenger hunt, made reading dens to read inside and found out about fiction and non-fiction books. What a fun day! 

Outdoor music

This week, we took our music lesson outside to sing our Spanish songs. 

Science- investigating different materials to test if they are waterproof.

We have been playing the rhythm sticks in music this week.

Changing the shape of different objects

In Science this week, we have been exploring ways we can change the shape of different objects by stretching,twisting,squashing and bending them. 

Before designing and making our puppets, we investigated different materials and how to join them to make the puppet strong. 

In Gymnastics, we have been learning different rolls and balances.

We played some team building games during forest school this week . It was so nice to see everyone encouraging one another to achieve the goal. 

In Design and Technology this term we will be designing and making a hand puppet for the children in Chestnut class. To begin our topic, we investigated different types of puppets looking at what they were made from and their features. 

The Great Fire of London

Our History topic this term is The Great Fire of London. As an introduction to the topic we learnt about the types of houses at that time and why they burnt so quickly.
