  • Random Pupil

    Mon 23 Oct 2023

Random pupil is an opportunity for children from each year group to talk about their work. They can share any pieces of work across all subjects and discuss what they have enjoyed or found challenging.

I really enjoyed spending time sharing the work with these amazing children.

  • National Poetry Day

    Thu 19 Oct 2023

To celebrate National Poetry Day, the children in Years 2 - 6 participated in an online workshop with Ian Bland. We listened to and joined in with some of Ian's poems and learnt how to write a puzzle poem of our own.

  • Sporting success!

Sun 08 Oct 2023 Lauren Rogers

Last week was such a busy week for sport. We had a ten pin bowling competition where everyone played brilliantly and we even entered the 100 club by getting a top score! Then we moved onto football later in the week and we played brilliantly as a team and scored lots of great goals. Finally it was cross country. We only had two runners but they ran so well in very big races! Well done everyone!

  • Congratulations Cockshutt we have achieved ARTSMARK SILVER!

    Fri 06 Oct 2023 M.Jones

You've achieved an Artsmark Silver Award!

We are delighted to inform you that your setting has been awarded an Artsmark Silver Award. Congratulations!

Your Statement of Commitment and Statement of Impact have been assessed and we’re pleased to share this feedback from our assessors with you:

'You have laid down really solid foundations for your creative, arts-rich philosophy for learning during this cycle of Artsmark activity. The hallmark of your work has been an increase in exposure to and engagement with arts activities for young people, and a challenging of preconceptions/building of confidence among staff. Both help to reset expectations and ambitions, setting a clear path for your onward journey. Highlights have included more work with artists thanks to additional funding ring-fenced from the school budget, improved teacher confidence along with the adoption of a 'growth mindset' and can-do attitude toward the arts. You have also used the arts as a means of providing 'soft landings' for transient learners who pass through your school and move onto other settings. As you continue with your journey it would be advantageous to reflect on the characteristics of good teaching and learning when the arts are a more developed part of your offer. This helps when commissioning projects, working with partners and sharing learning with other settings because you can be more precise about what you have done pedagogically and therefore know what else you would like to develop.'

Congratulations on your Artsmark Silver Award!

  • National day of prayer

    Mon 02 Oct 2023 S.Thomas

To celebrate National day of prayer the children thought about who or what in the community they are thankful for. They then wrote a prayer of their own and pinned it on our school values tree. It is great to see some of the things they appreciate in their own communities.
