Today Chestnut class had a wonderful visit to Xplore in Wrexham. They took part in a construction workshop where they had to explore elements of the shape, height and length of buildings and construct a bridge. They had lots of opportunity to learn through play, where they explored the human body, light and dark, sound and infrared cameras. We were told what amazing scientist we were by the xplore educators! Well done Chestnut class.
This week I talked to the children about their learning in Maths, they were enthusiastic and talked at length about their learning. The depth of their knowledge was very impressive. They also had super ideas for future Maths events in school.
Today we held a Christmas jumper run alongside the PTA. The children all ran 2k, some even more. I heard a rumour that some runners completed 15 laps which was 5k! Thank you so much for the sponsorship money.
We held a winter curling house competition. The year five and six leaders lead the competition and counted all of the points! It was great fun and the wining house was the Eagles!
This year’s Christmas Performance ‘Superstar’. All of the cast performed so well for the dress rehearsal, with confident acting and some excellent singing. Special thanks to Mrs Cheesman! and her amazing team 🎄
Inspired by Darrell Wakelam’s recent visit to school, a budding young artist has created his own cardboard dinosaur. We used a lot of old cardboard, recycled foil from lunch boxes, glue, tape and paint. I cannot wait to see what we make next time !
It was four years ago that we met as a federation to share Christmas dinner, so it was wonderful today to join together again. Thank you to everyone that worked so hard to make it such as success. Merry Christmas
Our kitchen elves have been busy again making the hall festive for the children. This year we have our own version of The Twelve Days of Christmas.
