    Fri 28 Jun 2024 S.Thomas

Year 6 headed off to Alderford Lake this morning to take on the aqua park. It was fun all round with lots of laughs, jumps, tumbles and slides. What a great group of Year 6s we have. You will all be greatly missed next year.

Another well attended community lunch was throughly enjoyed by everyone that attended. Thank you to all the kitchen staff for preparing a delicious lunch.

  • Land Art Project 2024

Fri 14 Jun 2024 Mrs Hoos

The children of Cockshutt Primary School have been collecting bottle tops since September 2023 along with the community and on Friday we completed the land art project with the very talented Kate Raggett. The Mandala measures a huge 20ft in diameter and it was an absolute pleasure working with Kate and the children on this unusual project. It brought to light some very important topics including the importance of recycling and how much waste we as humans create. In addition to this, it is important to note that art can be created from even the simplest of things (bottle tops!) and the effect is absolutely stunning.

  • Shropshire Sings

Thu 13 Jun 2024 Mrs Cheesman

On Wednesday, we were lucky enough to take 12 children to Shropshire Sings at West Midlands showground. It was a fantastic event where we performed 12 different songs to an audience of families. There were lots of other schools there and we were lucky to be sat with our Meres Edge federation school, Criftins. The children had a great time talking to other children.

The children were absolutely fantastic and represented Cockshutt so well. They sang their hearts out and performed brilliantly. I am so proud of the children and they should be very proud of themselves. Well done.

  • Looking after the Environment

    Tue 11 Jun 2024

It is amazing when children want to explore their own interests and passions and develop them in school. This is just what happened when a member of our school was concerned about littering and made a fantastic poster to display outside.

  • Varsity Games

    Fri 07 Jun 2024 S.Thomas

On 6th June Years 5 and 6 headed to the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham to take on 7 schools in a series of track and field events. The children gave their best shot at jumping, throwing and running events and didn’t leave empty handed. After many medals of the podium for running Cockshutt came 3rd overall. What an achievement for our school. Well done Cockshutt.
