We are delighted to welcome our Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 children to Oak Class for another exciting school year!
In Oak Class, we aim to create a happy, supportive and inspiring classroom where everyone feels confident to learn, ask questions and challenge themselves. Throughout the year, we will explore new ideas, develop new skills and work together to achieve our very best.
Oak Class is taught by Mrs Hoos on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and Miss Burgess on Wednesday. We are also very lucky to have the support of our wonderful teaching assistants, Mrs Edwards (full time) and Mrs Beasley, who works with us in the afternoons.
Keep an eye on our class gallery throughout the year, where we will share photographs and highlights of the fantastic learning, activities and experiences taking place in Oak Class.
π PE Days: Monday and Thursday
Children should come to school wearing their PE kit on these days. This should include a school PE top, black shorts or jogging bottoms and a school jumper. Please do not send children in branded PE kit.
Please see the school website for further information about our uniform and PE kit.
π³ Forest Friday: Friday afternoons
All children in Oak Class will take part in Forest Friday every Friday afternoon. Please make sure children have suitable clothing and footwear for the weather.
π Reading
We encourage children to read at home every day. Please record home reading in your child's reading record.
β Maths
Children should regularly practise their times tables using Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) and will receive weekly fluency questions. Year 6 children may also be given SATs-style questions to help them prepare for their end-of-key-stage assessments.
βοΈ Spellings
Children will have spellings to practise each week, with a spelling test every Friday.
We are excited to see how much our Year 4, 5 and 6 children learn and grow throughout the year. We look forward to celebrating their achievements and sharing some of the wonderful things we get up to along the way.
Here’s to a happy, successful and exciting 2026–2027 in Oak Class! πΏ
