Cockshutt CE Primary School & Nursery

Outdoor Learning

Being a rural school we believe that our learning should be firmly rooted in the local area.  We enjoy getting outdoors for forest school, daily mile, sport, walking and much much more.  Lessons are taught outside wherever possible.  Please take a look at the class pages to find out what we have been up to. We believe children should be firmly rooted in their own environment so that when they explore the wider world - they will step out with confidence.  A lifetime of learning begins here in school and we have fun embracing the journey together.

Using natural objects (mainly!) found around the daily mile track, to create beautiful designs.

Outside can be relaxing too.

We do it daily, do you?

Healthy and Happy

Autumn leaves.

We love the outdoors. Have a look through the photos to see what we have to offer.

One Frosty Morning

Art work created outside, enhancing our environment inside. The children have designed their block, hammered the nails in and used wool to give the piece colour and texture. these were created during our Forest School session.

A fabulous day for Year 5 with our friends from Criftins and Tom Brannigan from Natural England. This was the end of our project on enhancing the environment for the Year of Green Action. Beach cleaning in the sunshine was great fun, we also found a lot of interesting sea life.

We do our daily mile every morning and enjoy getting outside. The outdoors promotes positive mental health.

Thank you to the Co-op in Ellesmere for their generous donation of £250 towards our Forest School Shelter.
