Shropshire Hill Discovery Centre - May half term

Ludwig Theatre Arts have asks us to send out the following information:

We are delighted to share an exciting opportunity for local young performers to take part in this year’s professional pantomime at Ludlow Assembly Rooms, produced by Ludwig Theatre Arts, the team behind the 2025 record-breaking production of ‘Aladdin’.

This year’s pantomime will run from 8th December 2026 to 2nd January 2027, featuring a talented cast of professional performers alongside a large junior ensemble of local young people split between 3 casts.

We are currently inviting applications from students aged 7–19 to audition for our Junior Cast. Opportunities include:

  • Musical theatre/acting ensemble roles (some may involve full costume/character roles)

  • Singing and dancing ensemble/villagers

  • Dancers (ideally with singing ability, who may also take on ensemble roles)

We are also keen to hear from local performers aged 16+ for featured roles, particularly those in further education who would benefit from professional production experience.

A NEW creative club for young people aged 6-13

Saturdays 10-12

Starts 13th July

at Babbinswood Farm (near Oswestry/Whittington)

https://maps.app.goo.gl/y6SHSonvjKEMa248A

Come and explore a MULTIVERSE of possibilities. There will be activities using natural and reused materials emerging from YOUR ideas and interests - Den Building, Drawing, Sculpture, Architecture, Craft, Sound and Film + much more… Supported by experienced artists.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Parents/carers will need to stay for the workshop. However, you will not need to supervise other than to accompany your children to the toilets. This is because of the distance of the toilet from the creative space. We will be building a new compost toilet closer to the space. And when this happens we will be able to reassess these arrangements. Parents/Carers are VERY welcome to get creative as well.
