Doorstep Carols 2021

Please see information below received from Shropshire Music Service:

We have been invited to get involved with Doorstep Carols 2021 on Wednesday, December 15th from 6-7pm, by playing along to local radio.

All children and families have to do on the night is download the words from the website, tune in to BBC local radio and sing and play along!

If you have children who play musical instruments, they can find all the sheet music here here: https://www.doorstepcarols.co.uk/sheet-music

All resources are free to use, to download and print off.

This event started in Shrewsbury last year during the pandemic and gained a lot of traction nationally, with 35 BBC local and commercial radio stations broadcasting the carols across the UK for people to sing along to. It was broadcast on The One Show, BBC Breakfast, Channel 5 news and more!

This year, Doorstep Carols 2021 is much bigger with many large organisations involved and the support of Sir Tim Rice and BBC Local Radio once again. It's a wonderful idea and your support will be greatly appreciated as it will get whole families engaged with the event, and encourage mum and dad to sing too! If you are able to also share with your own friends, neighbours and families too and on social media to say you/your school is involved, that would help spread the word (see the attached flyer). And the organisers would love to see pictures and video clips of your children practising - please email editorial@myshrewsbury.co.uk if you can help!
