Art- watercolours
This half term we have been learning about JMW Turner. After practising a variety of watercolour techniques we then went on to select an image of a local castle to sketch. Some of us then refined our watercolour skills further before completing our final pieces.
Geography - visit to AICO
Wow, what a fantastic time we had presenting our presentations in front of Cockshutt and Criftins school, as well as representatives from Historic England and the Oswestry HAZ (Heritage Action Zone). This was followed by a tour of the offices and workshop. The children had a lot of questions to ask and took home some fantastic experiences.

Today we had a run through of our projects in anticipation for our exciting visit to AICO on Friday. The confidence in the class in inspiring, it really demonstrates our school value this term of COURAGE.
Art - JMW Turner
Introducing our spring Art topic with a tutorial on watercolours. We spent our lesson experimenting with different techniques such as grading, wetting, blotting, using white crayons and even salt to see how this creates different outcomes. We had some great final pieces to display in our classroom.
English - planning our fairytales
We worked in teams to plan out and structure our fairytales. The theme was a fairytale set in the woods. The pupils have produced some truly gripping openings to their stories. It's great to see the childrens' passion and imagination coming through from the books they have read themselves.
Spanish role plays - sport
¿Te gusta el fútbol? ¿ por qué? ¿Prefieres el yoga?
This week we have been producing and acting out role plays, giving our opinions on sports and asking and answering questions with a partner about their opinions on sports.
Journey Day- Epiphany 2023
What a fabulous day we had learning about Epiphany and its importance in the UK and around the world. We learnt about how different countries have different traditions for celebrating this important day such as "El día de los reyes" or Three Kings Day in Spain. Our day ended with a fantastic procession through the school grounds in typical style with lots of colour and music.
