A couple of children are in charge of the world cup wall chart and will be updating us on the progress of each time as the competition goes on! In the next few weeks the children will also get to play lots of football and we will be holding our own semi final and final world cup matches!

This week, our Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils took part in an exciting and informative Severn Trent workshop, where they learned all about what happens to our sewage water after it leaves our homes

The children discovered how wastewater is cleaned, treated and made safe before being returned to the environment, and why it’s so important to look after our water systems.

  • Easter Journey Day

    Fri 27 Mar 2026

On Wednesday, the children at Cockshutt C of E Primary School took part in a special Easter Journey Day. It was a truly wonderful occasion, where we came together to reflect on the Christian values of hope, love, forgiveness, perseverance, and new beginnings.

Despite the challenging weather, the children embraced the day with enthusiasm and positivity, demonstrating excellent resilience and teamwork throughout. The day began with Reverend Gareth sharing the Easter story, helping the children to understand its meaning and significance.

The children then worked in groups to take part in a range of engaging activities. At Forest School, they made and cooked bread over the fire, taking time to reflect on the Last Supper. They showed great creativity while making clay Easter eggs to represent new life. The children also created Easter gardens, thoughtfully discussing the resurrection of Jesus and what it means to Christians.

In addition, the children explored the different emotions and feelings that Jesus and his disciples may have experienced during the Easter story. This encouraged empathy, reflection, and deeper understanding.

We are incredibly proud of all the children for the way they immersed themselves in the day, showing respect, curiosity, and a real appreciation for the Easter story and its message.
