The children had a wonderful time celebrating Earth Day by getting hands‑on and caring for our environment. They enjoyed making fat balls to help feed the birds, took part in gardening activities, and helped keep our local area tidy with some enthusiastic litter picking.

It was lovely to see them learning about how small actions can make a big difference, while working together and taking pride in their surroundings. A great day of thoughtful, practical learning for our future planet!

  • Learning Where Our Water Goes!

Wed 22 Apr 2026 Kim Baker

This week, our Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils took part in an exciting and informative Severn Trent workshop, where they learned all about what happens to our sewage water after it leaves our homes

The children discovered how wastewater is cleaned, treated and made safe before being returned to the environment, and why it’s so important to look after our water systems.

A huge thank you to Severn Trent for delivering such an engaging workshop and helping our pupils understand how we can all play a part in keeping our water and environment clean

  • Village litter pick

    Wed 22 Apr 2026

Today, Ash class marked Earth Day by taking part in litter-picking around the village. This year's theme is "Our power, Our planet"

Working together, the children showed enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to caring for the planet. Their efforts not only contributed to a cleaner Cockshutt but also highlighted the importance of small, collective actions in protecting our planet.

Well done Ash class for demonstrating such positive values and for playing your part in creating a more sustainable future ♻️🌎
