Toady we had a visit from Paul Strugess, a former professional basketball player who also has two Guinness World Records for being the tallest basketball player and the tallest actor (7ft 7in). Each class spent time learning some new basketball skills.
We had a special visit from some creepy crawlies this afternoon. The children were so brave and loved it.
Multi cultural week is in full swing this week, with each class learning about a country through art, music, food and much more.
A wonderful evening listening to all the achievements of our young people. It was also a great opportunity to meet to Paralympic athletes AJ Jackson (Basketball) and Mel Clarke (Archery) and they even got to hold a real silver medal. Hard work brings rewards. A great message in a term where we are thinking about perseverance.
Cathryn Williams from Shropshire Fire and Rescue was very impressed with our Safety Squad's enthusiasm for the topic of Water Safety, and their presentation to the children on Monday 1st July. Cathryn showed the children how to use a Throw Line and talked about Float to Live - what to do in an emergency from the RNLI.
The Squad shared the importance of always staying with your family or group and to stay away from the edge of the water.
