In Ash class, we love to celebrate achievements outside of school.
We have had fun acting out the story of The Magna Carta
This week in PSHE, we have been talking about respect and how we can show it in different ways.
We had a great time re-enacting the story of William the conqueror.
Year 3s enjoyed a lovely day at St Alkmunds church in Whitchurch. We learnt lots about Pentecost.
Today we carried out an Environmental Quality Assessment survey to determine where the best place for a reflection bench would be on our school grounds. The children used a Digi Map of the area to explore and mark out 4 places. Then, they used an EQA table to determine how suitable their chosen areas would be. Each area was scored and the area with the highest score was deemed the best location for a reflection bench!
We had lots of visitors during our careers week, including a nurse, a pilot and we even went to the church to learn about reverend Gareth’s job as a vicar; he showed us how he performs holy communion and we tried some of the holy ‘bread’
We kicked off careers week with a visit to the farm on Monday. On Tuesday, we invited the community into school to share their careers with us. Following our farm visit, we looked at all the jobs involved in getting our food from the farm to our forks!
We looked at key dates and people from WW2 and created newspaper reports to celebrate VE Day!
We have had a great day celebrating VE Day. We had a special picture news, learnt morse code, cracked the secret messages, learnt the Lambeth walk dance and found all the allies and axis countries in WW2
In English, we have been learning how important rivers are. In groups, we collected information then presented it to the rest of the class.
