Tri Golf
Tue 17 Sep 2024Oak class had the opportunity to have a go at Tri golf this week with Lewis from the Oswestry golf club, they had great fun. There will be a club after school on a Monday if any year 5 and 6s would like to sign up.

Basketball Workshop
Mon 15 Jul 2024Toady we had a visit from Paul Strugess, a former professional basketball player who also has two Guinness World Records for being the tallest basketball player and the tallest actor (7ft 7in). Each class spent time learning some new basketball skills.

Marches AcademyTrust Primary Sports Awards
Thu 04 Jul 2024A wonderful evening listening to all the achievements of our young people. It was also a great opportunity to meet to Paralympic athletes AJ Jackson (Basketball) and Mel Clarke (Archery) and they even got to hold a real silver medal. Hard work brings rewards. A great message in a term where we are thinking about perseverance.

Water Safety Assembly with Safety Squad
Thu 04 Jul 2024Cathryn Williams from Shropshire Fire and Rescue was very impressed with our Safety Squad's enthusiasm for the topic of Water Safety, and their presentation to the children on Monday 1st July. Cathryn showed the children how to use a Throw Line and talked about Float to Live - what to do in an emergency from the RNLI.
The Squad shared the importance of always staying with your family or group and to stay away from the edge of the water.

Year 6 took off on the water for their Leavers' trip today
Fri 28 Jun 2024Year 6 headed off to Alderford Lake this morning to take on the aqua park. It was fun all round with lots of laughs, jumps, tumbles and slides. What a great group of Year 6s we have. You will all be greatly missed next year.

Community Lunch

Land Art Project 2024
Fri 14 Jun 2024The children of Cockshutt Primary School have been collecting bottle tops since September 2023 along with the community and on Friday we completed the land art project with the very talented Kate Raggett. The Mandala measures a huge 20ft in diameter and it was an absolute pleasure working with Kate and the children on this unusual project. It brought to light some very important topics including the importance of recycling and how much waste we as humans create. In addition to this, it is important to note that art can be created from even the simplest of things (bottle tops!) and the effect is absolutely stunning.
