On Wednesday, we were lucky enough to take 12 children to Shropshire Sings at West Midlands showground. It was a fantastic event where we performed 12 different songs to an audience of families. There were lots of other schools there and we were lucky to be sat with our Meres Edge federation school, Criftins. The children had a great time talking to other children.
The children were absolutely fantastic and represented Cockshutt so well. They sang their hearts out and performed brilliantly. I am so proud of the children and they should be very proud of themselves. Well done.
It is amazing when children want to explore their own interests and passions and develop them in school. This is just what happened when a member of our school was concerned about littering and made a fantastic poster to display outside.
On 6th June Years 5 and 6 headed to the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham to take on 7 schools in a series of track and field events. The children gave their best shot at jumping, throwing and running events and didn’t leave empty handed. After many medals of the podium for running Cockshutt came 3rd overall. What an achievement for our school. Well done Cockshutt.

The children in year 5 and 6 have been learning about plastic pollution. They have been very surprised by the damage this is causing to the environment. They wanted to help in some way, so decided to organise a litter pick to look after our local environment. What an amazing idea.
We had a visit today from Paul from Maths Whizz. He came to present some very special gold certificates to children who Maths Whizz have recognised for super effort. Well done.

We were very honoured to have been asked to form a choir to perform for the recent Princess Anne visit to Ellesmere. The children were excited and nervous for this event, however they sang beautifully and we are very proud of how well they represented the school.
