We wrapped up the half term with a bang—literally! On the last day, our school was thrilled to welcome a visiting rock band who turned the hall into a mini concert venue. With electrifying guitar solos, powerful vocals, and a rhythm section that had everyone tapping their feet, the band brought an unforgettable energy to the end of the day.

This week, our enthusiastic Year 3 and 4 pupils took part in a fantastic football tournament, showcasing teamwork, resilience, and a love for the game! 🏆
The children represented our school with pride, demonstrating great sportsmanship and determination in every match. Whether they were scoring goals, making brilliant saves, or cheering on their teammates, their energy and positivity were inspiring.
This week, the children had the unique opportunity to take part in a Sound Gong Workshop, exploring the calming and restorative power of sound. Led by a professional sound therapist, the session introduced children to the ancient practice of gong bathing—using deep, resonant tones to promote relaxation, focus, and emotional wellbeing.
The workshop supported our school’s commitment to mental health and wellbeing, offering a creative and sensory approach to mindfulness.
ONEVoice is all about student-led creativity! Groups of pupils from schools in the Trust come together to design exciting projects based on what they care about most.
The group from Cockshutt have decided to focus their project on sustainability, looking at how we can become a more sustainable school.

Thank you to all the parents who joined us this week for our phonics workshop! It was a great opportunity to explore how we teach early reading and share practical tips for supporting learning at home. We loved seeing everyone so engaged!
We’re thrilled to announce that our pupils are now enjoying professional pickleball coaching as part of their PE curriculum. Pickleball is a fun, fast-paced sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis — perfect for developing coordination, teamwork, and fitness.
Our coach is working with children across different year groups, helping them learn the rules, improve their skills, and build confidence on the court.
What an exciting start to our school year. This week the children took part in an incredible outreach project that brought conservation to life for our whole school community.
Through a series of inspiring workshops and a visit to the zoo, our children explored one of the zoo’s key conservation campaigns. These interactive experiences will empower them to take action to protect wildlife and our planet — making our zoo trip even more meaningful!
