We started our Careers week with a visit to a working farm.
We have been very busy at lunchtimes recently, litter picking around Cockshutt. We have found quite a bit of litter and hopefully we are doing our little bit to help keep the community tidy. We have met lots of lovely people along the way who stop for a chat and today we had a lovely talk to the community volunteers who were gardening and tidying up the area by the Millenium Hall.
This week we made volcanos. We explored the reaction between an acid and an alkaline to create a gas. In this case carbon dioxide.
We have been busy in science club and have made lava lamps. We made chemical reactions to watch the bubbles flow and talked alot about viscocity and how oil didnt mix with the water.
Our first Lego club was a huge success and lots of fun. It was lovely to see the children working creatively together to make their models.
The children had a great time today taking part in the London Mini Marathon. They completed 11 laps of the track which is equivalent to 2 miles, an impressive achievement especially in the heat. Well done everyone.
Well done to the children who represented the school at a football tournament. Such an achievement to come first.
The children enjoyed some crafting in the sun at the new Pop Up Messy Church. Keep an eye out for the date for the next one so you can join the fun.
