Computing

Computing Curriculum.

At Cockshutt, our Computing curriculum is designed to equip pupils with the digital skills, knowledge, and understanding they need to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world. Following the Kapow Primary Computing Scheme, our lessons are carefully planned to be engaging, progressive, and practical, ensuring that pupils develop both confidence and competence in a variety of computing concepts.

Our curriculum covers three key strands: Computer Science, Digital Literacy, and Information Technology. Pupils learn to code, solve problems, create digital content, and understand how technology impacts society. Through hands-on projects, collaborative tasks, and creative challenges, we encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and responsible use of technology.

From developing early coding skills in Key Stage 1 to exploring more complex programming, networks, and digital systems in Key Stage 2, our Computing curriculum nurtures future-ready learners who are capable, safe, and confident digital citizens.
