In computing, we have been creating our own branching databases.

We have been investigating how hard, durable and permeable metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary rocks are.

Science Week 2025 - Change and Adapt

A fantastic day at Xplore! Science Discovery Centre. We enjoyed playing with all the exhibits and put our forces knowledge to the test in a forces workshop. We developed our understanding of how food is grown and the impact growing food has on our planet before using our engineering skills to build an aquaponic tank.

We became palaeontologists today and used clues from a fossil to work out where this animal’s habitat was, what it ate and how it was adapted to its environment

In English we wrote letters to David Attenborough telling him what we know about whales, asking him for his advise on how to save them and what experience he has with whales. We also looked at where whales migrate to depending on the seasons in the North Pole

In PE we looked at how we have to change how we communicate with those that are visually impaired so that they could complete the obstacle course

We looked at lots of different animals and how they have adapted to live in their habitats

We have had a really fun day celebrating our love of reading and books. 📕

We all dressed up as our favourite book characters, made a comic book strip story and then made peg dolls of our characters.

World Book Week - A live session with Michael Rosen

We have been testing how the size of a magnet affects the strength of the magnetic force.

Our D&T unit on sewing has inspired one member of Ash class to make her own bag during indoor break time.  She was very pleased with the end result.

Children’s mental health week - Know Yourself, Grow Yourself! We explored different feelings and emotions.

Science - we investigated friction by looking at how different surfaces affect how far a car travels down a ramp.

Science

We have been sorting actions in to groups to say whether we use the force ‘push’ or ‘pull’ for them.

Ramp Up Week!

Art- We made some ice art using natural materials

D&T- We started our new topic in D&T where we be designing and making our own purses/wallets.

English - we made comic book strips using facts and fiction from our winter break

Maths - we recapped our learning by creating Math’s Graffiti!

Science - We created an investigation and tested what materials were magnetic!

Geography - Using clues and atlases to guess what country we are studying this term
