Ash class blew me away today with the amount of respect they showed throughout all our activities. For children of such a young age I was incredibly proud of them.
Year 2 began the day by writing Remembrance Haiku poems whilst Year 3 and 4 wrote a wonderful class narrative on The Christmas Truce. At 11am, we made our way over to the war memorial at the church where we took part in the 2 minute silence. In the afternoon, we created art pictures inspired by Jacquline Hurley.
Following on from our trip to Chester Zoo, the pupils in Ash class made a fact file on their favourite animal! They used books and iPads to research interesting facts about the animal’s diet, habitat and adaptions.
We have been comparing the Stone Age, the Bronze Age and modern day life.
In history, we have been looking at The Stone Age. This week, we made our own StoneHenge out of clay.
In geography, we have been locating countries on the map.
We have had a great first week back in Ash class, enjoying lots of collaborative and team activities to get to know each other.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
